The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved incentives under the Semiconductor Policy 2024 to attract investments of Rs 3,000 crore or more. These case-by-case incentives include interest subsidies, employee cost reimbursement, 10-year SGST exemption, EPF reimbursement up to Rs 2,000 monthly for UP residents, water tariff concessions, and electricity tariff relief. The move aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a semiconductor manufacturing hub, generating employment and investment. Other approved proposals include land allotment for a forensic sciences university campus and construction of a new bus station.
