Ahead of the Makaravilakku festival, Sabarimala has been placed under a thick security blanket with approximately 2,000 police personnel deployed. Entry to the Sannidhanam is capped at 35,000 pilgrims daily, adhering to a High Court order. Pilgrim movement restrictions are in place from Nilackal to Pampa and Pampa to Sannidhanam. The Thiruvabharanam procession carrying sacred jewels will arrive on Makaravilakku day under tight security. Authorities have advised pilgrims to view the Makara Jyothi from designated viewpoints and have implemented comprehensive safety and crowd management measures.
