
Transgender devotees allege harassment and discrimination by police at Pampa, Kerala, while attempting to trek to Sabarimala. Approximately 15 devotees were reportedly stopped and asked for gender verification documents. Police cited standing instructions to prevent women of menstruating age from proceeding and stated transgender devotees need valid documentation. The transgender community plans to file a formal complaint with the Kerala government over the incident.
