Seven rare galaxy frogs have disappeared from a research site in Kerala's Western Ghats, with photographers seeking images implicated in the destruction of their habitat. Researchers found logs overturned and vegetation trampled, noting that photographers allegedly used high-intensity flash photography and handled frogs without gloves. While an informant reported two frogs died during sessions, researchers could not verify this. The study highlights the threats posed by photo tourism to this unique, small amphibian species.
