
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is launching a new city-wide study to reassess women's safety perceptions in public spaces and transport. The six-month project, costing an estimated ₹19.78 lakh, will survey 3,000 respondents, including 2,400 women, using a mixed-method approach. Data collection will focus on mobility, public transport experiences, safety perceptions, harassment instances, and helpline awareness, incorporating focus groups and interviews. Findings will be analyzed statistically and compared with previous baseline data.
