The Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) has raised concerns about a rising number of men who have sex with men (MSM), with 1,105 registered and receiving counseling. Officials warn this trend poses a significant HIV challenge, as many MSM avoid registration due to fear of disclosure, including married men. MSACS emphasizes that unregistered individuals cannot receive treatment. The issue is present in both urban and rural areas, suggesting higher actual numbers. Since 1990, Mizoram has diagnosed 33,781 HIV cases, with sexual transmission being the primary mode.
