
Mizoram recorded 145 tuberculosis deaths in 2025, the highest toll in six years, according to official data. The state diagnosed 2,275 new TB cases in 2025, a slight decrease from the previous year. Fatalities have steadily increased since 2020. Among new cases, 146 had multi-drug-resistant TB, and 267 were co-infected with HIV. Aizawl district reported the most cases. Over 100 individuals have registered to support TB patients through the 'Nikshay' platform under the PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
