A study in 14 Telangana villages found that a doorstep screening and treatment approach, STAR, significantly reduced anaemia among adolescent girls and women. The program, which provided iron and folic acid supplements at home, saw anaemia drop by over 15% in girls aged 10-19 and improve in women of reproductive age, outperforming routine national programmes. This community-wide strategy offers a promising alternative to facility-based screening.
