Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) Chairman P. Krishnayya advised the public to celebrate Bhogi festival in an eco-friendly manner and avoid burning hazardous waste. He explained that burning materials like tires, plastics, and electronic waste releases toxic pollutants, worsening air quality and posing significant health risks, including respiratory issues and increased cancer risk. Krishnayya urged citizens to use only dry leaves or firewood and hand over old household waste to municipal collection services instead of burning it.
