A Goraya man, Mandeep Kumar, who was reportedly tricked into joining the Russian army over a year ago, has been confirmed dead. His brother, Jagdeep Kumar, confirmed Mandeep died in a drone attack in Russia in November 2025. After a year-long search involving DNA samples and diplomatic efforts, Jagdeep successfully brought his brother's body back to India. He faced obstacles, including being prevented from entering a war zone by Mandeep's commander.
