
Ahmed al-Ahmed, an Australian resident of Syrian descent, was honored at the Sydney Cricket Ground before the final Ashes Test for his bravery during the recent Bondi Beach shooting. Al-Ahmed tackled one of the shooters and disarmed him, an act that gained him widespread recognition. He was joined by 14-year-old Chaya Dadon, who was shot while shielding children. Both were applauded by players and a crowd of thousands, recognizing their heroic actions during the incident which resulted in 15 fatalities.
