NIMHANS celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Sakalawara Community Mental Health Centre (SCMHC), an early rural mental healthcare initiative established in 1976. The center evolved from outpatient services and community outreach to include rehabilitation and technology-enabled care, adapting to national mental health priorities. The event featured an exhibition detailing its history, the unveiling of a portrait of founder Acharya Buddharakkhita, and the release of a commemorative postal cover by India Post.
