Residents of Ambur town in Tirupattur, including women, farmers, and traders, protested for a new subway on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 48). They cited numerous accidents at a narrow service lane crossing, used by thousands of residents, farmers, and students. The NHAI plans to close this crossing to prevent accidents, prompting demands for a safe subway. NHAI officials stated efforts are underway to construct a new underpass near the village for safe passage.
