A Central report on drinking water quality in Madhya Pradesh reveals that 37% of state samples and 67% in Indore failed potability tests between July-October 2024. Indore's pass rate was 33%, half the national average. The report, from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, also noted low availability of field-testing kits in Indore. This comes after a water tragedy in Indore claimed over a dozen lives, leading to official dismissals.
