The Tourism Department plans to revive boating at Thirumoorthy Dam after a 15-year suspension. A joint inspection by Tourism and Water Resources departments, along with the Dhali town panchayat, has initiated the process. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹80 lakh and initial funding of ₹5 lakh for boats, aims to generate revenue and create jobs for the local tribal community. Boating will cater to the large number of pilgrims visiting the nearby Thirumoorthy Temple and Panchalinga waterfalls.
