Chhatbir Zoo saw over 500,000 visitors in 2025, with government school students forming the largest group. The Forests and Wildlife Preservation Department's initiatives have reportedly boosted interest. The zoo, established in 1977, hosts educational programs, a large aviary, a dinosaur park, and has upgraded its wildlife safari area with a strengthened wall and solar plant. A new critical care unit for carnivores and an education plaza have also been added.
