
Bengaluru experienced a slight increase in road accidents in 2025, with 4,893 incidents compared to 4,769 the previous year. However, fatal accidents and road deaths have decreased for the second consecutive year. Outskirts of the city are identified as hotspots for fatal incidents. Despite an overall improvement, the percentage of fatal accidents rose, attributed to policy changes and expanded city limits. Enhanced enforcement and special drives, including drunk-driving checks, are credited for the reduction in accidents.
