Karnataka has achieved a record 198 organ donations in 2025, surpassing its previous high of 178 in 2023 and securing third place nationally. Tamil Nadu led with 267 donations, followed by Telangana with 205. Officials attribute Karnataka's success to increased hospital empanelment, including in tier-two cities, and sustained awareness campaigns. The state plans to expand its organ donation program to taluk-level hospitals and improve brain death declaration protocols.
