The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), in collaboration with the Maharashtra Forest Department, conducted an Asian Waterbird Census near Alibag, Maharashtra. The census recorded 809 shorebirds, including species like brown-headed gull and black-headed gull. The event aimed to understand migratory trends and wetland status. While the site was largely undisturbed, the presence of plastic debris was noted as a primary environmental concern.
