A luxury hotel in Udaipur has been ordered by a consumer court to pay a Chennai couple ₹10 lakh in compensation for a privacy breach. The couple alleged a housekeeping staff member entered their occupied room with a master key while they were in the bathroom, despite requests for no service. The court found the hotel deficient in service, stating internal procedures cannot override guest privacy. The hotel was also directed to refund the room charges with interest and pay litigation costs.
