
West Bengal is constructing a massive, year-round landmark in Kolkata dedicated to Durga Puja, following its UNESCO cultural heritage recognition. The Rs 262-crore project, funded by HIDCO, will feature a 177-foot-high sanctum, 108 deity idols, 64 lion statues, and 1,008 pillars. The complex will also include a cultural museum and a central courtyard seating 1,000 devotees, aiming to boost tourism and preserve heritage.
