The Aluva municipality's new waste management system, a public-private partnership, is gaining momentum three months after its launch. The system encourages residents to deposit biodegradable waste at a processing booth for a fee, with waste converted into compost. The municipality has earned ₹39,000 since October 2025 and aims for ₹4 lakh in the next three months. The initiative, which includes a Robobin facility for households unable to treat waste, has attracted 1,050 subscribers.
