The Chicago Cubs have acquired right-handed pitcher Edward Cabrera from the Miami Marlins in exchange for outfielder Owen Caissie and minor leaguers Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo DeLeon. Cabrera, who posted an 8-7 record with a 3.53 ERA last season, joins a deep Cubs rotation. The move is the Cubs' first major offseason acquisition as they aim to build on their 92-70 record and playoff appearance from last year. Cabrera is under team control through 2028 but has a history of finger and elbow issues.
