Former cricketer Priyank Panchal has questioned the exclusion of Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami, and Axar Patel from India's ODI squad against New Zealand. Panchal expressed bewilderment at preferring players like Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana over established performers, deeming it unjustifiable. Despite strong performances in domestic tournaments and recent series, Shami, Patel, and Singh were not selected. R Ashwin also voiced concerns over Arshdeep's omission. Rishabh Pant was ruled out due to injury and replaced by Dhruv Jurel.
