
Nihal Sarin won the Tata Steel Chess India rapid title, dedicating his victory to his maternal grandfather who passed away the night before the final round. Sarin, a last-minute replacement for D. Gukesh, secured the title with 6.5 points after drawing with Viswanathan Anand in the final round. Anand finished second with six points, followed by Arjun Erigaisi in third. In the women's section, Kateryna Lagno claimed the title.
