
Shreyas Iyer has received full fitness clearance from the BCCI's Centre of Excellence following a spleen injury sustained in October. He is now eligible to join the Indian team for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, starting January 11. Iyer demonstrated his recovery by scoring 82 off 53 balls in his return match for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, successfully passing his fitness test. He is expected to resume his role as India's vice-captain in the middle order.
