India's vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been declared fit by the BCCI's Centre of Excellence following a spleen injury sustained in October. Iyer proved his match fitness by scoring 82 off 53 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is now cleared to play in the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting January 11. Iyer is expected to reclaim his middle-order batting position and vice-captaincy role.
