The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated it is not involved in Bangladesh's request to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to move its T20 World Cup 2026 matches out of India. This request reportedly followed the BCCI asking the Kolkata Knight Riders to release pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia clarified that World Cup venue decisions are under the ICC's purview, not the BCCI's.
