During the first ODI between India and New Zealand, all-rounder Washington Sundar walked off the field mid-innings after sustaining a back sprain while bowling his fifth over. He was placed under medical observation. India won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match held at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi.
