A Bangladesh government advisor has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to move T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka, citing safety concerns for Bangladeshi players. This follows the release of Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) squad by the Kolkata Knight Riders, reportedly due to pressure related to the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh. The advisor stated that if a contracted player cannot play in India, the national team may not feel safe participating in the World Cup there.
