
Indian badminton star P.V. Sindhu has advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 tournament after defeating Sung Shuo Yun of Chinese Taipei in the opening round. Returning from a foot injury lay-off, the 30-year-old former world champion won in straight games, 21-14, 22-20. In mixed doubles, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto were eliminated in the round of 32.
