Pakistan has submitted a preliminary 20-player squad for the T20 World Cup to the ICC, with former captain Babar Azam and pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi included. Notably, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been left out, reportedly due to the selection of Usman Khan as the preferred keeper. Shaheen Afridi is expected to recover from a knee injury. The squad will be finalized to 15 players by head coach Mike Hesson before the January 31 deadline. The tournament is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
