Sports administrators have been sternly instructed by Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao not to treat multi-sport events as family outings, emphasizing their 100% availability for athletes. This directive came during a Sports Governance Conclave where officials were also urged to submit Asian Games contingent names by January 15. The secretary questioned India's readiness to host the 2036 Olympics, citing current participation levels and the need for deeper sporting ecosystems and administrative seriousness.
