Indonesia has appointed former Canada coach John Herdman to lead its men's national football team, aiming to improve its World Cup qualification prospects. Herdman, who previously guided Canada to the 2022 World Cup, replaces Patrick Kluivert. This move comes after Indonesia's repeated failures to qualify for the tournament since 1938. Herdman's contract is for two years with an option for an additional two, and his immediate focus will be the 2027 Asian Cup.
