Google and AI chatbot maker Character.AI have agreed to settle multiple lawsuits alleging their AI harmed minors, including a Florida case where a mother claimed a chatbot contributed to her son's suicide. The settlements, which cover suits in Florida, Colorado, New York, and Texas, require court approval and terms were not disclosed. Google's involvement stems from a licensing deal and hiring of Character.AI's co-founders. Character.AI previously announced it would remove chat features for users under 18.
