Apple's upcoming iOS 27 update is anticipated to introduce nine new emojis, following the Unicode Consortium's draft list for Emoji 18.0. Proposed additions include a squinting face, butterfly, pickle, lighthouse, meteor, eraser, handheld net, and left/right thumb gestures, alongside skin tone modifiers. While Unicode finalizes these concepts, Apple and other platforms will design their visual interpretations. These emojis are expected to be implemented in iOS 27, potentially arriving in a later update around March or April of the following year, after the current Unicode 17.0 additions are integrated into iOS 26.4.
