Scientists on a deep-sea expedition near Hawaii discovered a striking, road-like rock formation on the Liliʻuokalani Ridge, over 3,000 meters below the Pacific surface. The formation, characterized by flat, yellowish rock slabs arranged in neat rectangular patterns with right-angle cracks, resembles a "yellow brick road." This discovery, made by the Ocean Exploration Trust aboard the E V Nautilus, highlights the largely unexplored nature of deep-ocean geology and ancient volcanic landscapes, offering insights into these environments.
