India has launched its new e-Passport, featuring an embedded electronic chip that stores encrypted personal and biometric data. This upgrade aims to enhance security, reduce fraud, and expedite immigration checks by adhering to international standards. The e-Passport is available to all eligible Indian citizens for new applications and renewals at select Passport Seva Kendras and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras, with the application process mirroring that of a traditional passport.
