Social media platform X, owned by Elon Musk, will remove illegal content and permanently ban offending users, including those using its AI tool Grok to generate such material. This action follows a directive from India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), which demanded immediate removal of vulgar, obscene, and unlawful content, particularly AI-generated material. X stated that users prompting Grok for illegal content will face the same consequences as those uploading it directly, emphasizing user accountability over the AI tool itself. International regulators are also scrutinizing Grok's misuse for creating sexualized images.
