An engineering college in Idukki, Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology (MBCET), has developed an electronic system named BEEMARK-I to enhance beehive monitoring. The system uses IoT sensors to collect environmental and biological data, issuing automated alerts for abnormalities like temperature fluctuations, humidity, air quality, and bee activity. This non-intrusive technology aims to help beekeepers transition from reactive problem-solving to preventive colony management, potentially preventing colony collapse and maximizing honey production.
