India is set to implement Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication technology to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. This system will allow vehicles to directly exchange real-time safety information, such as speed and braking, without relying on mobile networks. A joint task force with the Department of Telecommunications is working on standards and spectrum allocation. The technology is expected to be fully rolled out by 2026, with an estimated cost of Rs 5,000-7,000 per vehicle, providing early warnings to drivers in various conditions.
