India's broadband subscriber base has surpassed 1 billion, reaching 100.37 crore by November 2025, a six-fold increase from 131.49 million in November 2015. This growth is attributed to both wired broadband (fiber, DSL) and wireless technologies (5G, 4G) across various devices. While wireless, particularly 5G, is currently driving much of this expansion, a greater contribution from wired broadband is considered essential for sustained growth.
