Time Range

Adjust the time selector to see news activity over different periods. Shorter ranges (1-6 hours) show real-time activity, longer ranges show trends.

Article Collection

We continuously ingest articles from 50+ Indian news sources via RSS feeds and APIs. Each article is timestamped and categorized using multi-label classification models trained on Indian news taxonomy.

Sentiment Analysis

Article sentiment is calculated using fine-tuned transformer models on Indian news data. The score (0-100) reflects overall tone - accounting for context, sarcasm, and domain-specific language patterns.

Research basis: News activity monitoring follows media monitoring research practices (Leskovec et al., 2009). Sentiment analysis uses approaches validated in computational journalism research (Grimmer & Stewart, 2013).

Beyond volume, we show the average sentiment across articles in each category. This reveals whether current coverage of a topic is predominantly positive, negative, or neutral — useful for detecting media pile-ons or celebratory coverage.
