
The Reserve Bank of India reported that the weighted average lending rate (WALR) on new rupee loans by scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) was 8.71% in November 2025, a slight increase from 8.61% in October. The WALR on outstanding loans decreased to 9.21% from 9.24%. The median MCLR for one-year tenor also saw a marginal dip to 8.45% in December. Deposit rates showed a mixed trend, with fresh term deposit rates rising slightly to 5.59% while outstanding rates fell to 6.73%.
