The Andhra Pradesh government has granted Vedanta Limited (Cairn Oil Gas Division) a conditional No Objection Certificate (NOC) to drill 20 onshore oil and gas wells in Krishna district. The approval, issued by the Water Resources Department, is subject to specific terms and conditions, including restrictions on drawing water from irrigation sources. Vedanta had requested the NOC for development under the Discovered Small Field (DSF) Policy, 2018, for 35 potential locations, with the Bandar Canal passing through the proposed block.
