India's Power Consumption Rises Slightly in February Amid Higher Temperatures

India's power consumption in February rose marginally by 1.86% to 132.99 billion units compared to the previous year, influenced by reduced use of heating appliances amid higher-than-usual temperatures. Peak power demand also increased slightly to 243.15 GW. The Indian Meteorological Department reported February had the lowest rainfall since 2001, with no cold waves, contributing to subdued electricity demand. Experts expect power consumption to remain subdued in March due to anticipated normal to below-normal temperatures.
