Satyanarayan Nuwal Receives Padma Shri for Contributions to Indigenous Defence Manufacturing
Satyanarayan Nuwal, founder and chairman of Solar Industries India, was awarded the Padma Shri in 2026 for his contributions to India's defence manufacturing. Despite dropping out after Class 10 due to financial hardships, he built a leading company producing military-grade explosives, rocket systems, and the Nagastra weaponised drones used in Operation Sindoor. His work supports India's 'Make in India' initiative by reducing import dependence and fostering indigenous defence innovation, earning recognition from government officials and establishing him as a prominent industrialist.
