
Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) sold nearly ₹17,000 crore worth of Indian IT stocks in February 2026, driven by concerns over artificial intelligence disruptions, causing the Nifty IT index to decline about 20%. Despite this, overall FPI investments in Indian equities remained positive with net inflows of ₹22,615 crore. In March, FPIs continued net selling, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares, supporting a market rebound led by sectors like Metals, Consumer Durables, and Auto.
