Rani Kapur Challenges Family Trust in Delhi HC Alleging Fraudulent Asset Diversion

Rani Kapur, mother of the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, has filed a suit in the Delhi High Court challenging the validity of the 'RK Family Trust', alleging it was fraudulently created by her daughter-in-law Priya Kapur and others to divert the family estate and control of Sona Group companies. The suit claims Rani Kapur was exploited after a 2017 stroke, with assets transferred without her informed consent. She seeks cancellation of the trust, restitution of assets, and injunctions against the defendants. The dispute is part of a broader inheritance battle involving Sunjay Kapur's estate, valued at around Rs 30,000 crore.
