
The IRS has announced an increase in the standard mileage rate for business use to 72.5 cents per mile, effective January 1, 2026. This adjustment aims to provide tax relief to individuals using personal vehicles for work-related purposes, reflecting updated cost data and inflation. The rate for medical travel will see a slight decrease to 20.5 cents per mile, while the rate for charitable mileage remains unchanged at 14 cents per mile.
